    ELAVIO

The first Latin American Summer School of Operational Research took place in Punta de Tralca, Chile, on January, 1994. These summer schools are mainly aimed at graduate students, and their mission is to generate new research in collaboration, and promote the training and participation of young students and graduates. Between 40 and 60 alumni asist usually, and 4 or 5 tutorials are given. The participants have the opportunity of presenting and discussing their work. A great feeling of comradeship has been generated at each ELAVIO, and the integration among integrants of research groups at different countries has grown.
